McPherson Guitars are a pioneer in the marketplace with their state-of-the-art bracing and cantilevered neck design. More than three decades ago, McPherson revolutionized the acoustic guitar world by introducing its unique Offset Soundhole Technology. This breakthrough design increased the total flexible surface area on the central part of the instrument and has become their unmistakable signature.
This guitar is a delight to play. It has a strong bass and lower mids, clear highs, and a slightly scooped mid range you would expect from rosewood. Unlike Indian Rosewood the Madagascar has a fuller and more complex overtone series that is more similar to Brazilian Rosewood. Like all McPherson guitars, the guitar comes with a proprietary offset sound hole and a cantilevered neck which enhances the tone of the guitar by allowing the top of the guitar to vibrate freely. Within the soundhole, a series of braces are designed to arch just under the guitar top wood with minimal contact, allowing tonal vibrations to be maximized while providing for structural strength. The Camrielle also comes with a pleasing florentine cutaway for higher fret access.
Given our prior experiences with the Madagascar/Englemann wood combination, we can only expect it to sound significantly more impressive in time. The 4" body depth gives it plenty of volume and headroom and will delight even the most aggressive player. The guitar plays like a dream when plugged in and reproduces an acoustically rich and balanced tone thanks to the LR Baggs electronics which have been specially tweaked to better complement each McPherson guitar.
