The seventies were a great time for bass players. They started to come into their own around then: not just playing the bottom-end, but exploring tonal areas previously reserved for guitar players. Remember Chris Squire of Yes? He changed the world for bass players with his Rickenbacker 4001 and Rotosound strings (and of course, a pick). That sound defined an era. Here we have a 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass in natural finish. This is a really cool Rick bass with fairly minimal wear. The frets are fine, everything works like it's supposed to. The bridge has been changed, but we have the original bridge that comes with. The previous owner was told the newer one would sound better, but he said he couldn't tell any difference. The original pickup cover and nut are also included inside the case. There is one area of wear by the input jack, but overall the condition is excellent. It has the original case which is in rough condition, missing some of tolex on the front.
