  9. Taylor 514ce Japan Limited Prototype Acoustic Electric
    $2,599.00

Okay, you and your buddies are talking guitars, 'cause guitar players love to talk about their guitars. One buddy says, "My Taylor is really cool, it's an early model". Because you're a nice guy, you say, "Man, that's cool"; then casually mention, "Mine is a prototype". Dead silence...the guy is completely shut down. With any luck at all, he'll go into an alcoholic tailspin, and you'll never have to look at him again. Well, that may be a bit harsh, but he probably deserved it. Here's the deal, Taylor made this guitar in the USA as a prototype for a limited edition run that was sold to the Japanese market exclusively. It is a Taylor 514CE Japan Limited, but with a few different aesthetics from the ones made for the USA market - most notably a satin finish and dot inlays. The back and sides are tropical mahogany, and the top is Western Red Cedar. It has the new Expression 2 pickup system. It's new, from the factory, and comes with full warranty. It sounds great, looks great, and has that little extra bump of coolness because it's a prototype. It's doubtful you'll find another one like this in the USA. Let your buddy stew on that!

  10. USED 1998 Gibson Custom Shop AJ Advanced Jumbo Brazilian Rosewood
    $5,000.00

This is a cool and rare guitar. It's a monster. We have a 1998 Gibson Custom Shop Advanced Jumbo Brazilian. That's right, Brazilian Rosewood. How cool is that? This guitar looks and sounds unbelievable. It plays great: the action is nice, low, and easy. It's great for finger picking AND strumming. Everything you'd want out of a Gibson acoustic. Jackson Browne has one of these, along with his 30's Advanced Jumbos. The bridge has been reglued; no other issues or repairs. There is light wear, nicks, dings, and scratches - nothing major. The finish has sunken into the grain in places on the back: typical of lacquer finishes on Brazilian rosewood. Still overall the condition is excellent. The sunburst finish looks so authentic; as does the pickguard, which is the old-style striped kind. The neck is wide and big, and feels great. It's got a 1 7/8" nut width. It has open back Grover tuners as well. Gibson will not be making any more Brazilian Rosewood guitars, and this one is priced right. Comes with hard shell case.

  11. USED Fender 1995 Strat Ltd Edition Candy Apple Red w/ Matching Headstock
    $800.00

Does anybody remember "Roll And Roll Hoochie Koo" by Rick Derringer? The album cover was so cool. Rick was playing a red Fender Stratocaster with a matching headstock. I thought that was the coolest Strat ever. We have a Limited Edition 1995 USA Fender Stratocaster in Candy Apple Red with a matching headstock. These matching headstock models were produced for only a short time and are pretty rare. It's a great guitar, and has had some great upgrades: Fender locking tuners, a white pearloid pickguard, and three Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster pickups. We're not sure which CS pickups it has but they sound amazing - a perfect balance of tight lows, focused midrange and smooth top-end sparkle. Everything you want a Strat to be! They also hum cancel in the 2 and 4 position. It has a rosewood fingerboard, and the frets are in great shape, showing only a very slight amount of wear. The body shows wear, nicks, dings and scratches: a typical paint chip out of the neck pocket; an extra hole on the back where someone put a strap button. Overall condition is good and everything is structurally solid. It's great sounding, the neck is straight, and everything works fine. It's a good one, and it has a vintage vibe that I like. Comes with a non-original trem bar and Fender gig bag.

  12. Used Vintage 1960 Gibson ES-330TD
    $4,800.00

This is one of the best sounding ES-330's we've come across. A vintage 1960 ES-330TD. There's a vibe in the old wood of this guitar you don't hear in the new models. Played acoustically it's loud and resonant...it vibrates on your arm, the back of your hand, against your ribs, or any other part of your body that touching it. It feels alive. Plugged in this guitar really shines. It comes close to doing everything you could want. The bride pickup has a twang that can rival a Tele but with a fattness a Tele doesn't have. The neck pickup is big and punchy with a woody tone that you've always wanted but have seldom heard. The ES-330TD was debuted in 1959 as a thinline with creme plastic body binding on top, back and three sides of the rosewood fingerboard. It had the postwar script "Gibson" logo at the top of its ebony overlaid glossy finished headplate, and below that there is no further decoration, just a white bordered black bell-shaped truss rod cover held in plate by two roundhead Phillips screws. Factory order number R2795. This model has the twin rounded cutaway and also a shorter length neck than the ES-335 had. The scale length is approximately 24 1/2" nut to saddle. The width of the fingerboard at the nut is 1 11/16" with an E-to-E string width at the saddle of 2". It has an elevated black plastic pickguard with edges that are laminated with white-black-white border. It has twin black plastic P-90 pickups which have a "dog ear" on the bass side, but a squared side on the treble. It has a tune-o-matic bridge, meaning that it is fully adjustable both vertically and individually adjustable both forward and backward. The pearloid fret marker at the 15th fret has been replaced and the treble side binding from the first to 9th fret has been replace. Other than those two repairs this guitar is all original. Comes with modern hardshell case.
