We just took in two absolutely incredible Fender Showman rigs on consignment, and this is the earlier of the pair - a 1961 Fender Showman with its matching blonde cabinet, factory-loaded JBL speaker, and original accessories. Finds like this simply don’t happen very often.
Originally purchased new by two brothers and somehow preserved in near mint condition, this rig honestly looks like it time-traveled straight from the early ’60s to today. We rarely see amps this clean that are only a few years old - seeing one this untouched after more than 60 years is kind of mind-blowing. You just don’t see vintage Fender rigs this complete or well-preserved anymore. The Details
- Year: 1961
- Serial Number: 00593 (yes—only three digits)
- Transformer Codes: 606143 and 606133
- Configuration: Blonde Showman head with matching 1x15 cabinet
- Speaker: Original JBL D130F with tone ring
- Condition: Exceptionally clean, near mint overall
The amp was fully checked out by local tube amp guru Robert Hinson, who confirmed it is 100% original. He carefully brought it up to power using a variac, and the amp works perfectly and sounds incredible - big, clear, and authoritative in the way only an early Showman can.
A serious collector will appreciate keeping this amp completely factory original. If you plan to put it into regular playing rotation, we’d recommend replacing the filter caps for long-term reliability, while preserving all original parts.
Condition Notes
The only blemish worth mentioning is a small scuff on the grille cloth at the top edge of the speaker cabinet. Otherwise, the cosmetics are remarkably clean throughout.
Included- Original blonde head and 1x15 cabinet
- Original JBL D130F speaker
- Original footswitch
- Original speaker cable
- Original covers for both the head and cabinet
This is a museum-grade Fender Showman that also happens to sound phenomenal. Whether you’re a collector, historian, or someone who wants to own one of the cleanest early Showman rigs out there, this one is truly special.
