The Eclipse EC-256’s singlecut body shape, mahogany build, and a 22-fret roasted jatoba fingerboard make for a guitar that’s easy to traverse and highly playable. For the bridge pickup, Voice 1 is the PAF, Voice 2 is the classic hot-rodded humbucker, and Voice 3 is an overwound single coil. The resulting sonic versatility of this guitar is astounding. The EC-1000T/CTM also includes a Macassar ebony fingerboard with white pearloid ESP flag inlays and 22 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, LTD locking tuners, and a TonePro locking TOM bridge and tailpiece.

  The square-shouldered, 14-fret dreadnought is the poster boy of acoustic guitar body shapes. It's classic, but above all, practical. While Collings is certainly not the only company to build them, they bring a new tonal clarity to the depth and warmth usually associated with such a large, deep-bodied guitar.
