  Preston Thompson Dreadnought models are all crafted to produce the tone and volume that the dreadnought guitar was originally designed to achieve. These are powerful instruments that, when needed, stand up to the volume of a mandolin, fiddle and banjo. They have the bass response that provides an almost full orchestral backing to vocals. Their mid-range response and bright trebles take flatpicking and lead playing to new levels of achievement.
  These are traditional instruments and all models are based on the famous 1937 Herringbone Dreadnought, owned by the late, great Charles Sawtelle of the award winning bluegrass band, Hot Rize. All feature Red spruce (Adirondack) tops chosen for tap tone and stiffness, advanced X brace placement, hand graduated top thickness, pre-war hand carved scalloped braces, nitro-cellulose lacquer finishes and time tested design features such as dovetail neck joints.

  The square-shouldered, 14-fret dreadnought is the poster boy of acoustic guitar body shapes. It's classic, but above all, practical. While Collings is certainly not the only company to build them, they bring a new tonal clarity to the depth and warmth usually associated with such a large, deep-bodied guitar.
  Although its bass response makes the dreadnought ideal for vocal accompaniment, Collings versions are also often employed by bluegrass flatpickers who must compete with inherently louder instruments such as banjos and fiddles. Simply put, the Collings D1 will get the job done, and with grace and humility.

  'OM' stands for "Orchestra Model," but 80 years after this body shape was first designed it has become the most popular 14-fret model with fingerstyle guitar soloists who choose to play on steel strings; yet flatpickers also find it appealing. The compact shape makes the Collings OM equally easy to handle onstage or when sitting on the couch, and the relatively shallow body (barely over 4 inches deep) results in balanced tone and an immediate response.

  The Bourgeois HSV-D features extraordinary Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, showcasing a stunning palette of colors: from deep browns to reddish hues, with distinctive spider webbing and a striking sapwood center. The Brazilian Rosewood on this guitar has a unique provenance: it was acquired by Dana Bourgeois from the estate of the late Don Sharp, a legendary master luthier. Don Sharp, who tragically passed away in November 2021, was celebrated for his exquisite custom handmade acoustic guitars, including his renowned harp guitars valued between $8,000 and $12,000. His legacy of craftsmanship adds a rich historical significance to this exceptional instrument.

Salvaged from the ancient Koa forests of the Big Island of Hawaii, the Hawaiian Country Boy’s Koa backs and sides sound as good as they look, offering a rich midrange and a touch of island warmth that will deepen over time. Dana Bourgeois has personally selected each old-growth Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top in this series. Chosen for their bright and responsive tap tones, each one was hand-voiced at Dana’s small workshop in Maine. By combining the warmth of Island Koa with the sparkle of winter spruce, the Touchstone Hawaiian Country Boy has been designed to respond equally well to delicate fingerpicking and lively strumming.

Here is a meticulously cared for National Style "O" N-14 brass-body resonator guitar, made in 2001. This iconic instrument features a brass body with a German Silver finish, delivering the punchy, clear tone and incredible projection that National resonators are known for. National's 14-Fret Style "O" became a legend when Mark Knopfler used a late 1930s model, famously showcasing it on the cover of Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms album in 1985. This reproduction stays true to the vintage original. The smaller 14-fret body adds versatility and ease of access for reaching those higher notes, making it perfect for both slide and fingerstyle playing.

Featuring a beautiful Traditional Satin Dark Sunburst finish, with Aged toner applied to the entire guitar. Collings' “Traditional” build offers a rounder tone with less shimmery highs and a more open, broken-in feel. These “T” series guitars represent an exciting vintage-inspired variation on the distinctive Collings sound, designed and crafted to showcase the most desirable characteristics of coveted pre-war instruments.
