Upgraded from the standard L1500 model with Premium Clear Red finish on a stunning bookmatched Swamp Ash top and scraped binding. This L1500 is surprisingly lightweight at just 8 pounds 2 ounces. Yet, it doesn't compromise on the legendary G&L tone. This bass is a collector or player's dream. It's in near-mint condition. We've never seen a cleaner 28 year old instrument! Collector-owned, there are no signs of any play wear. The neck is straight and true. The frets are perfect and show no signs of play wear. Players can plug into the “Mix/Piezo” jack and use the individual volume controls to blend the 58/15 “S” pickups with the piezo’s acoustic tones. Alternatively, players can plug into the jacks separately, so the guitar can run magnetic pickups into an amp and run the piezo through an acoustic amp or DI into the soundboard. When using the magnetic output jack in isolation, the piezo battery is bypassed completely, acting as a failsafe (in this scenario, the magnetic pickups still work even if the piezo battery has run out of juice). This is the most versatile SE instrument in the Series nearly twenty-year history.

  The PRS Silver Sky is the result of a close collaboration between Grammy Award-winning musician John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith. More than two and half years in the making, the Silver Sky is a vintage-inspired instrument that is at once familiar but also newly PRS through and through. This model was based off of Mayer and Smith's favorite elements from 1963 and 1964 vintage instruments, resulting in an idealized version of a vintage single-coil guitar. The attention that was paid to every detail sets this guitar apart.
