  Preston Thompson Dreadnought models are all crafted to produce the tone and volume that the dreadnought guitar was originally designed to achieve. Outside of these aesthetic attributes, the 40th Anniversary Custom 24 is looking ahead with its all-new PRS DMO Treble and Bass pickups. DMO pickups (DMO standing for Dynamic, Musical, Open) were spec’d by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Products Engineering team to have a wide open sound with vocal character.

  Featuring a gorgeous 10-Top in Yellow Tiger. The McCarty Singlecut 594 has been meticulously spec’d to deliver a familiar feel and warm, vintage tone, featuring a bound, 22-fret, 24.594” scale length Pattern Vintage neck, a slightly thicker back for enhanced tone and sustain, and 58/15 LT+ treble and bass pickups, which have been through the TCI (tuned capacitance and inductance) process. 58/15 LT+ pickups offer exceptional clarity, focused midrange, and vintage character. The McCarty Singlecut 594 model is anchored by a zinc two-piece stoptail bridge with brass saddles and studs for added resonance and vintage-style tuners.
  “One of my sayings is that everything that touches the string is God – well, that’s really the bridge, the nut, and the tuners. The updates to the McCarty family make a huge difference in their tone. The guitar sustains longer and the tone has more character,” said Paul Reed Smith.

Larrivee's Traditional Series was created with two things in mind: Create an instrument with traditional 'vintage' features like a flat-top headstock, hand-carved volute, and diamond inlays; but at the same time maintain the unique tonal balance of the standard Larrivée symmetrical parabolic bracing system. An enlarged soundhole allows significantly greater mid-range punch, emphasizing the low end, and increasing overall volume. This 50 Series features Larrivee's highest grade mahogany, herringbone trim, and traditional angled bone nut. The casted bronze open-back tuners feature engraved design work by Wendy Larrivee. One of the many fine details that put this series in a category of their own.
