We are offering a 1981 Mossman Guitar Golden Era model custom made for Bob Shane by Stuart Mossman to commemorate 25 years of the The Kingston Trio. This guitar was a collaborative effort between Bob and Stuart Mossman. Bob personally selected the Brazilian rosewood and spruce top from Mossman's private stash, (Remember the word "stash"...you'll understand in a minute). Bob played this guitar for three years on the road before he retired it. Kingston Trio was the the preeminent folk band in the early sixties and spearheaded the massive, folk boom. These guys are the Beatles of folk music. This is a fantastic guitar and a great piece of American music history.

A little larger footprint (than the 1x12) accommodates the needed internal volume to match the 15” Full Range driver and create this, warm, huge sounding compact cabinet that shines for everything form old-school Blues and R&B to scooped modern Slap and tight, picked Rock styles. The 2x10 is the compact solution for players who prefer the midrange articulation and focus of 10s, but need a smaller option than the classic 4x10. Combining two allows a more portable solution than one heavier quad-box and the ability to take one for rehearsal or small venues and two for gigs with louder bands or in bigger venues. Using the 2x10 in combination with a 1x12 or 1x15 imparts color, articulation and iconic midrange punch along with more volume. In the late 1970s, Clarence Leo Fender was looking forward to launching his new G&L brand featuring his latest innovations including Magnetic Field Design pickups and the Saddle Lock bridge. Leo developed these technologies at his CLF Research company, and production of the new G&L instruments took place in the CLF Research factory on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California, where G&L production continues today.
The new CLF Research L-2000 is a fully modern "2k" that pays homage to its roots with classic details including the early CLF/G&L headstock and neck profile, beautifully reproduced CLF knobs and '81 control plate, and color-coded mini toggle switch tips.
