"It's also known as Goncalo Alves. Tigerwood is easier to say. It tends to be harder and heavier than Koa or Mahogany, nearly like east Indian rosewood, but with a different grain structure. On a spectrum of sounds, it’ll lean more toward a rosewood like tone due to its density, but with less mid scooping - it'll be a little more balanced in the midrange like koa due to the grain structure.”
