What sets this guitar apart is its stunning, one-of-a-kind, Pat Wilkins finish, inspired by the legendary Eric Clapton "Crash 1" Strat. Wilkins (whose portfolio includes work for Van Halen, Eric Clapton, and Kirk Hammett of Metallica, among others) has masterfully captured the bold, vibrant aesthetic of Clapton's famous Crashocaster, but without the added graffiti.
For context: in March 2001, Clapton debuted the Crashocaster, painted by renowned graffiti artist John “Crash” Matos, on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. It quickly became Clapton's main guitar through his 2004 World Tour. This tribute honors that same striking visual style with a one-of-a-kind finish, making it a true collectors piece unlike any other.
This guitar looks pristine, with the only two specific blemishes worth mentioning: A chip where the neck meets the body; and a small mark on the back of the neck where a stand has discolored the finish (see photos for these). Other than that, it looks ultra clean. The frets are perfect, showing no signs of wear. It has been collector-owned and obviously cared for. It comes with the original hardshell case.
If you are looking for a unique Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster with a direct connection to rock history and unmatched artistry, this is the one. Don't miss your chance to own this rare and visually stunning instrument!
