  1. USED 1991 G&L ASAT Classic Signature Series Prototype
    $12,750.00

It's a rare occurrence to come across a vintage guitar with provenance. Many guitars have stories, but few can be proved. The story behind this guitar is amazing, and is well documented. This prototype G&L ASAT Classic was built for Dale L. Hyatt who was a close friend and partner of Leo Fender in the G&L guitar company. Mr. Hyatt worked closely with George Fullerton and Leo Fender on designs. Mr. Hyatt kept prototype guitars in his office to get feedback from dealers and players, with the thought of using their input in future designs. This guitar is a prototype, made for Mr Hyatt in 1991. It has two features that are unique and non-standard. First is the intensely figured Birdseye Maple neck that is drop dead gorgeous. Hyatt had been working with Gulag Gidwani, the owner of an exotic wood supply company that specialized in providing high end woods to instrument manufactures. The wood on the neck was purchased specifically for this instrument from Gulag's inventory. The second unique feature is the special two-tone, black/chrome Schaller tuning machines. These tuners were out of a prototype batch of tuners made by Helmut Schaller and were custom made for Mr. Hyatt.
It was Mr. Hyatt who convinced Leo Fender to name this model "ASAT Classic" because he felt it was classic in the same vein as the ASAT, featuring more traditional specs. The guitar was kept by Mr. Hyatt after his retirement and later on passed to his son. It is mint, not tampered with, and unplayed. It is the only one on the planet. Comes with original G&L advertisement pages from the time, G&L brochure, a copy of the G&L handwritten production sheet from 1991 showing this guitar, documentation from Kenneth L. Hyatt, Dale's son, who still works for G&L, a photo of Mr Hyatt with the guitar, and original hard case.

  2. USED Vintage 1968 Gibson Les Paul Standard Goldtop
    $12,950.00

I'm giving my age away, but I remember when these came out in 1968: the Gibson Les Paul Standard. The Les Pauls were unavailable for eight years, so it was a big deal when they we re-released. Every pro got one. Joe Cocker's guitar player can been seen playing one in the movie Woodstock. Mike Campbell still uses his, as does Jeff Lynne. Rumor was, these first models were made from leftover bodies, necks, and other parts from the fifties. We have a really good one for you today. This is a fantastic 1968, small headstock, original P-90 pickups, one piece mahogany neck. There is lacquer checking on the front. It looks and plays great, no repairs, breaks, or other issues. The bridge and tailpiece are recent, and it has replacement Grover tuners. The frets are original. It has a great vintage patina. Strummed unplugged this guitar is very loud which is always the sign of a superior instrument. It's ready to rock and roll and sounds like a million bucks. Comes with non original Gibson hard case.

  5. Gjika Amplification Shawn Lane Stereo Amp RARE!
    $20,000.00

Shawn Lane had the best combination of incredible speed and beautiful, melodic phrasing I've ever heard. I feel very lucky to have known and taken lessons from him. Some of my fondest memories in the late 80's and early 90's were spent in his studio, which was just a back bedroom in his Grandmother's house. He tracked some magic in that small room! When I first met him he was playing a Holmes Mississippi Bluesmaster amp, Westbury tube overdrive, and a couple of Boss pedals. His cabinet was mic'd up in the closet and pedals were on the floor in front of his mixer. I distinctly remember going over to Shawn's house right after he'd gotten his Gjika preamp and power amp. His Holmes rig sounded fantastic, but nowhere near as good as the Gjika. I'd never heard an amp like Gjika and have heard countless amps since then but to this day have not heard another like it.

If you are looking at this, I will assume you know exactly what it is and how amazing this amp is. If not, just listen to Shawn's guitar tone on "Grey Pianos Flying" from the Powers Of Ten album or his cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Peace In Mississippi" which he recorded in the early 90's but released later on The Tri-Tone Fascination. You'll get a good sense of what this amp can do.

This amp is what Bob Gjika felt was the pinnacle of single ended amp design. 40 watts stereo with 8 power tubes per side running single ended. It's identical to the amp that Shawn Lane used to record the Powers Of Ten album, and subsequently toured with. It has two tone controls giving the amp more tonal options. Built at the same time as Shawn's amp, it has been brought to us by a gentleman who was partners with Bob Gjika during the mid-80's. It has been checked out by a local amp tech, and is in perfect working order.

This is an amazing piece of gear. Built like a tank. A guitar amplifier that will be revered for years to come alongside Trainwreck and Dumble.

The preamp and power amp tubes will ship in separate boxes. This power amp is quite heavy and will ship without the power tubes to ensure they are not damaged in transit. Everything will be packed meticulously. Please contact us directly so that we can give you an accurate shipping quote.

  7. Bourgeois Guitars L-DBO Presentation Limited Edition #6 of 10

    Regular Price: $17,195.00

    Special Price $15,475.00

"Un objeto de gran belleza"  That's a beautiful Spanish phrase isn't it? It means, "An object of great beauty". I can't think of anything that describes this guitar more eloquently and accurately. Where do I begin? This stunning instrument is a work of art that also happens to be an incredible guitar. It has a wonderful tone thanks in part to the Aged Tone Adirondack Top. Of course, the Brazilian Rosewood back and sides doesn't hurt either. This is a presentation model, like the beautiful presentation grade guitars and banjos made by the great instrument makers in the early 1900's. Instruments that were designed to represent the penultimate of the maker's art. The Bourgeois L-DBO-Presentation is that and more. This is as good as it gets, my friends.
