Details
The guitar has had a re-fret, replacement tuners, replacement pickguard and bracket, a Seymour Duncan Antiquity Humbucker install, and a new wiring harness. It has been professionally set up and plays exceptionally well. The Antiquity is a great match for this guitar, giving it a warm, articulate amplified sound while still retaining the woody, acoustic character that makes an ES-175 so special.
Cosmetically, it wears its age honestly. There is finish checking and wear throughout, along with some slight stress cracks on the back. None of this detracts from the guitar's sound or playability - it simply looks like an old ES-175 that has been played for the last 67 years.
If you are looking for a pristine collector piece, this probably isn't that guitar. If you are looking for a real vintage Gibson you can actually play, this one is a lot more interesting. It has a great feel, a great sound, and the kind of natural character that is very difficult to duplicate on a newer guitar.
