Here is an exceptionally clean example of a 1964 Gibson Hummingbird, crafted in Kalamazoo, Michigan during the golden era of Gibson acoustics. Finished in a natural top: a less common option for Hummingbirds of this era. This vintage gem is in very good condition, showing only minimal wear for a guitar that is over 60 years old.

Description

Details

This Hummingbird has been professionally refretted and features a replacement bone nut, along with a professionally repaired center top seam separation. The tuners have been replaced, and there is some finish wear on the headstock from a capo, along with a few very light cosmetic marks, but overall, the guitar is remarkably clean for its age.
It plays beautifully thanks to the pro fretwork and setup, with low action and great intonation. The guitar has the wider early 60's 1-11/16" nut width and 25-3/8" scale length.
Tonally, this Hummingbird sounds great: warm and rich, with a prominent midrange and nice top end clarity. Whether you're strumming or fingerpicking, this one has the kind of vintage vibe and depth only a well-aged Gibson can provide.
It comes with a vintage alligator tolex chipboard case.
