USED Vintage Martin D-28 - 1969 - Brazilian Rosewood Item #69d28
$4,950.00

Availability: In stock

This 1969 Martin D-28 is one of the last to be made with Brazilian Rosewood, right before Martin made the switch to Indian Rosewood. SN# 252958. Martin chose a stunning set of quarter-sawn Brazilian for this one: rich in color and beautifully grained. It is a very fine-sounding guitar with lovely, dry articulation, excellent balance, and plenty of volume.

Details

This a guitar some might consider as a platform for a pre-war style conversion, but it is absolutely ready to go as it sits - and it's a solid opportunity to own a vintage Brazilian D-28 at a manageable price point.
This guitar is in overall good condition for its age. It has had a neck reset, body binding repaired, the bridge has been shaved down, and it has been refretted. The fret job isn’t perfect, but it is very playable. The common B-string crack has been professionally repaired, and the original pickguard has been replaced. There is a back crack and a couple of top cracks that have not been addressed but remain stable.
It shows typical signs of wear for its age, including finish checking. The tuners are original Grover "Pat. Pending" and still work smoothly. It ships in a non-original hardshell case.
This is a player's D-28 with killer tone, vintage mojo, and investment-worthy woods. It's eady for the next chapter.
  Comes with a non-original case.
