Here's a 2016 PRS CE24 in a custom color - Charcoal Metallic with Black neck. It's in amazing condition. Near mint. It has scarcely been played, but should be because it plays amazingly. The 85/15 pickups are tone machines that can play any type of music from jazz, blues, classic rock, all the way to metal. With the push/pull you can get a nice Fender style single coil tone out of the neck or bridge pickups. Another great feature that benefits the tone is the brass contact points where the strings go around on the locking tuners. Paul Reed Smith himself has stated that it leads to better tone and sustain. With 24 frets the CE24 has endless capabilities and is a great addition to any guitar collection! Here's an outstanding Ken Smith BSR Elite Artist Series neck thru 5 string bass. At the time this bass was made it was the next to top of the line model that Ken Smith offered just below the limited edition Black Tiger series. The woods and finish on this model are improved over the lessor models...it has the Smith hand-rubbed catalyzed lacquer finish instead of the Dutch varnish. This BSR-EG has a fat tone with quick, rich, articulate note response. Incredible wood selection. The build and feel is phenomenal. Very comfortable and balanced in the hands. All original. What's not to like about a guitar with class? You know, one that would look just as good with a tuxedo as it would with jeans. Here we have a 1996 Gibson Artist Award. It is an instrument of great beauty, and as we've already mentioned, class. It is in exceptionally fine condition, showing almost no wear. The only real wear I can see is on the edge of the gold plated pickup, and a slight bit of hazing on the gold tailpiece. The frets are perfect, everything is perfect. It plays and sounds great. It's a great Jazz guitar, but more than that it is a great guitar period. The Artist Award has a 17 inch wide body with a solid spruce archtop and gorgeous flamed solid maple back and sides. Floating humbucker. Grover Imperial tuners and that classy Guild headstock. The gold plated hardware really sets things off. Johnny Smith played a Guild archtop in his early days. George Benson played them too. The original case is in beautiful condition. This is my kind of guitar, a rock and roll animal. Here's a 1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom. It has had some mods: middle pickup added; a Badass bridge installed that entailed drilling new holes for the studs; and a Bigsby tailpiece was removed at some point. The pickups were changed to Seymour Duncan. Now here's the kicker, and it's a real kicker: Three, count them, 1 2 3 original Gibson Patent Number Decal pickups come with the guitar. How about that?! That's a thousand dollar value in itself. The tuners are Schallers. Bone nut. The pots date from 1972. The original sunburst finish is really cool. The frets are in excellent condition. There's the general amount of wear you'd expect from a 46 year old guitar. Overall the condition is very good. It plays and sounds great. It sounds great with the Seymour Duncan pickups, but you may prefer to put the original pickups back in it...your decision. It comes with the original hard case with purple lining. This is one amazing guitar. A Tausch 665 Deluxe in Amber Burst. It is a set-neck, semi-solid Telecaster style body with hand-picked, meticulously chosen woods. Tausch guitars give new meaning to hand-made. He makes about two guitars a month. The attention to detail is extraordinary. He uses Harry Haussel pickups that sound amazing. It has a strat style tremelo with a Pau Ferro wooden block instead of the metal traditionally used. The resonance is unreal. The semi-acoustic body made of Pearwood gives the 665 a truely unbelievabe loud and "alive" acoustic response. Sound just explodes from this thing. The flamed maple neck is "set in", with a neck joint that enables comfortable access up to the highest registers. The sunburst finish is similar to the one use by Gibson on Les Paul models in the late 50's. It is lightweight, and an absolute joy to play. I love the way a double bound Tele looks. When Fender introduced the Custom Telecaster in 1959, with a bound body and rosewood fingerboard, it took the model to another level of good looks. The PRS Silver Sky is the result of a close collaboration between Grammy Award-winning musician John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith. More than two and half years in the making, the Silver Sky is a vintage-inspired instrument that is at once familiar but also newly PRS through and through. This model was based off of Mayer and Smith’s favorite elements from 1963 and 1964 vintage instruments, resulting in an idealized version of a vintage single-coil guitar. The attention that was paid to every detail sets this guitar apart.
Some of the more distinctive specifications include, the headstock shape, tuners, neck and fretboard, bridge, and pickups and electronics. The headstock shape is based on PRS’s trademark design, but inverted to both accommodate Mayer’s playing style and also to keep a consistent length of string behind the nut, which makes staying in tune easier. The tuners are a traditional vintage-style, closed-back tuner, but with PRS’s locking design. The neck shape was modeled after 1963/1964 vintage instruments, and the fretboard has a 7.25” radius. The moment your hand grabs this neck, it just feels right. Like the tuners, the steel tremolo takes a classic design and incorporates PRS’s trem arm and Gen III knife-edge screws. The bridge on the Silver Sky is setup flush to the body in the neutral position so that the tremolo bridge only goes down in pitch. By keeping the bridge in contact with the body, the guitar itself is acoustically louder, which improves the signal to noise ratio of the single-coil pickups. The 635JM single-coil pickups are very round and full, with a musical high end that is never “ice-picky” or brash.
Other high-quality specifications include a bone nut, a molded metal jack plate that is curved and makes plugging and unplugging a guitar cable hassle-free, retooled knobs, fretwire that is slightly smaller than what you’d find on most PRS electric guitars, and PRS’s double action truss rod (accessible from the front of the headstock for ease of use).
