Based on Larrivee's tried and true "X-Brace" design, Jean Larrivee blended a non-symmetrical scalloped lateral cross-bracing pattern with their standard X-Brace. This means maximum strength using the least amount of material. It's a build that allows even further vibration of the soundboard, while still offering a controlled dynamic bass response. Like all Larrivée's, the 40 Series are built in America using only all solid wood and feature upgrades like bone nut and saddle, diamond fingerboard dots, and 18:1 open-back tuners. Jean's revolutionary new bracing design means a robust and unique tone that is sure to appeal to traditional and long-time Larrivée players alike.

This popular cutaway Grand Auditorium entices players of all styles with an array of sonic delights, starting with the classic wood pairing of solid rosewood and Sitka spruce. The guitar is now powered by Taylor's award-winning V-Class internal bracing, which not only enhances the voicing with more volume, sustain and projection, but also improves the intonation along the entire fretboard, yielding greater clarity, consistency and harmonic agreement between notes. As a result, rosewood’s full-spectrum voice, featuring rich overtones, takes on an even more pleasing high-fidelity sound that translates into a more expressive response.
