The idea of buying a new guitar straight off the rack, that is comparable to the great vintage Gibson J-45 models, is pretty mind boggling. The idea of getting a pro-level acoustic with all solid wood construction, nitrocellulose finish, beautiful sunburst, and Adirondack Spruce top for under $1200, is also mind boggling. 5. USED Ernie Ball Music Man James Valentine
    $1,595.00

Everybody here at the shop real digs this Music Man Valentine guitar. This one is used, but doesn't really look like it's been played. It still has plastic on the pickups and control cavity. We love the look of this guitar. It is a new, modern design, but it does have a certain vintage aesthetic as well. This guitar features a slab ash body, two Ernie Ball Music Man designed pickups (1-humbucker/1-single coil), with 3-way custom wired lever switch, coil tap, modern hardtail bridge with vintage bent steel saddles, 25.5-inch scale, oil and wax rubbed roasted maple neck with 10-inch radius maple fingerboard, 22 stainless steel frets, oversized 4-over-2 headstock and compensated nut. 6. USED Gibson Custom Shop ES-345 stereo 2012
    $3,000.00

I am a fortunate man. Growing up in Memphis in the 60's, I got to see all the great blues players; Albert King, B.B. King, and Freddy King to name a few. Seeing Freddy King play live with his Gibson ES-345 was an incredible thing. I'll never forget it. Playing this guitar has me reliving those times. Here we have a 2012 Gibson ES-345 Custom Shop, made right here in Memphis, TN. The cherry red finish looks fantastic with the gold hardware. It is factory stereo with the Varitone switch. Freddy and B.B. both used the heck out of the Varitone switch. They would start the solo with a very muted, soft tone, then gradually move the Varitone to a brighter and louder setting. Such a cool way to build a solo. The neck feels great, with a comfortable 60's slim "C" shaped profile. The frets show no wear. It's in excellent condition with no repairs or modifications. Comes with original hard case, warranty papers, and Custom Shop certificate.

  7. USED 1950 Gibson ES-175N Natural
    $5,500.00

What is cooler than a 1950 Gibson ES-175? How about a Blonde Gibson ES-175? Now we're talking! We have a lovely Gibson ES-175N from 1950. Serial number A-9824. The finish is original and the guitar is very clean. There is light lacquer checking looks great and has that vintage patina. The ES-175 is a jazz guitarist's staple, just ask Joe Pass. The tuners are replacement Gibson tuners from the 1970's. The tailpiece has been changed. The pots are changed but we have the original wiring harness and it comes with the guitar (the date codes on the pots are from 1950). The case is a Gibson case from 1970's that needs a handle. At some point an excellent refret was done, and these frets are in great shape. Electronics work perfectly. It is professionally set up and ready to play right out of the box. It's a good investment, they aren't many this clean around, and it is a great playing and sounding guitar.

  8. USED 1973 Gretsch 7660 Chet Atkins Nashville
    $2,395.00

This is a nice guitar, kind of rare too. We have a Gretsch 7660 Chet Atkins Nashville made in 1973. It features a Bigsby tailpiece, open F-holes, two black top filtertron pickups, Burns gearbox for truss rod adjustment, and Van Zandt tuners. This was made in the USA and is one of the early Baldwin made instruments. It is very clean and nice. The overall condition is excellent. There is some wear on the gold hardware. The frets are fine. It comes in a 1960's Gretsch hard case. I love the neck, with a 1-11/16" nut width and very comfortable slim "C" shape profile. This is a chance to own a vintage, USA made Gretsch without breaking the bank.

  9. USED 1970 Fender Telecaster Blonde
    $4,800.00

Immortality, that's what humans have longed for since the beginning of time. Y. Sandoval has achieved immortality in a weird way. Who is this person? Well, we don't know much, but he or she worked for Fender in 1969, 1970, and perhaps longer. This person took pride in their work because the 1970 Fender Telecaster we have has a rubber stamp ink marker, "Wired By Y. Sandoval" stamped under pickguard. How cool is that? I've seen a 69 tele that has the same stamp. I love that. Here you are working a job, it's a paycheck, then almost 50 years later somebody calls you and says, "You did an excellent job wiring the Fender Telecaster I just got." That would have to make to you feel great. Here we have a 1970 Fender Telecaster. It's all original with a maple fingerboard. The pickguard is original with the pearloid pattern on one side. The pots are dated 1966 which is correct. There is some cosmetic wear: a scrape down to the wood on one side, various nicks and dings. Overall, it's clean, especially considering the age. The frets are fine. It plays great, and sounds fantastic. Thanks to the excellent wiring job by Y. Sandoval, the electronics work perfectly. This is a great Telecaster and comes with original hard case. With any luck you might hook up with Y. Sandoval and have a drink, and talk about your guitar.

  12. Taylor K14ce Builder's Edition - V-Class Bracing - Torrefied Sitka/Hawaiian Koa
    $4,999.00

This stunning Grand Auditorium from Taylor's new Builder’s Edition collection features Hawaiian koa back and sides paired with a torrefied Sitka spruce top. The guitar was inspired by their groundbreaking V-Class bracing, which boosts the volume evenly across the tonal spectrum, increases the sustain, and improves the natural intonation of the guitar by creating a more orderly response from the soundboard. The result is a more harmonious relationship between the notes you play, helping chords sing with cohesive beauty. Another design emphasis of Builder’s Edition is enhanced playing comfort in the form of ergonomic new body contours. Details include a beveled armrest, beveled body edge treatment, and a reshaped cutaway that flows smoothly into the heel and incorporates a finger bevel where the cutaway meets the soundboard. This creates a more fluid path to the guitar’s upper-register notes for your fretting hand. Other refined touches include “silent” satin finish, which helps quiet the incidental noise against the guitar body, and a gorgeous new Kona burst that highlights the natural beauty of the figured koa back and sides. Inset koa/paua top and back trim adds a beautiful sparkle that complements the new Spring Vine fretboard inlay. In every way, this K14ce acoustic guitar embodies the ultimate player’s guitar and testifies to the benefits of innovative craftsmanship.
