    Regular Price: $4,595.00

    Special Price $4,135.00

The Bourgeois Large Soundhole D incorporates many of the features that bluegrass flatpickers search for in those "Holy Grail" pre-war dreadnoughts. The enlarged soundhole, special rosette, custom pickguard and blank, bound 21-fret fingerboard capture the proper authentic aura for this specialty model. Dana has also incorporated the hallmarks of his own current designs, including Aged Tone torrefied top, braces and Aged Tone finish. The result is a more of a tribute than a replica, and Bourgeois feels that it makes the perfect bluegrass guitar. Many have remarked that these Large Soundhole Ds are louder and slightly more open than their standard dreadnoughts, while still maintaining their signature balance and clarity. These models have a strikingly "vintage" sound that is sure to thrill many a flatpicker dreaming of owning their own pre-war "bone".

  6. G&L L-2500 - Lightweight Empress w/ Tamarind Top #9036
    $3,173.00 Click for price

Eric, our beloved boss, ordered this up special. G&L sent him a photo of a great piece of wood, and he decided it would look great on a bass...now the bass is here. Pretty cool, huh? Ask and ye shall receive. This is a cool one, a G&L L-2500 Five-String with an Empress body, and Tamarind top. The finish is vintage natural, the neck is hard rock maple with rosewood fingerboard. The neck finish is a Satin Light Tint with jumbo frets. It has two G&L MFD L-series humbuckers, with Tri-Tone Active/Passive system. This is a great bass, solid as can be, super lightweight, and great sounding. A super-cool bass, unique, and oh so fine sounding: doesn't get much better.

  10. USED 2004 Taylor 415-L7 Limited Edition Indian Rosewood/Sitka Spruce Jumbo
    $800.00

Taylor has made a lot of cool guitars over the years. I really like this one. It is a limited edition Taylor 415 L7 Jumbo with Indian rosewood back and sides, and a solid spruce top. This one is a 2004 model. Taylor no longer offers a jumbo model. Overall it is very clean. There is some capo wear on the back of the neck near the third fret. It's there and it's obvious. Other than that the guitar is in excellent condition. The frets show some very slight signs wear but have many years of playing life in them. The neck is straight and the action is great. There is plenty of room on the saddle, the neckset is perfect. It sounds really good. This one is a boomer with a great, rich sound. It's really hard to go wrong with a Rosewood and Sitka Spruce jumbo. This was a Limited Edition model so there's that to consider. We have lowered the price to reflect the capo damage. Other than that, it's a peach. Comes with original hard case.

  11. USED Suhr Limited Edition Alt T Pro Black
    $1,795.00

I was telling the lads at the store about a club I worked at in the early 70's. One the bands came through with a Fender Telecaster Deluxe. We were outraged that Fender would put a humbucker on a Telecaster. It was one of those, "How dare they!" moments. I have since matured. A tele with humbuckers is the bomb! We are offering a Suhr Alt T Pro. It is modeled after the 70's Fender Telecaster Thinline Deluxe but with a few tweaks to make it even better. This one has a black finish, two humbucking pickups ("Thornbuckers") and is semi-hollow body. The original black pickguard has been changed out to a white one, which we all like the looks of more than the black one that originally came on it. The black pickguard will be included in the gig bag. It sounds and plays awesome. In excellent, near-mint condition. I love the bridge with it's traditional brass saddles but better than a vintage one because you can adjust each string intonation individually. It has a maple neck with locking tuners. The frets are perfect, action is perfect, it's good to go. Comes with gig bag.

  12. Vintage 1960's Gibson A-50 Mandolin
    $1,375.00

Poor owners of 1965 or 1968 Gibson instruments. They never really know if it's a 1965 or a 1968 because duplicated serial numbers in 1965 and 1968. One has to wonder if someone did that just to mess with folks in the future. Maybe a disgruntled employee, angry at the world, and determined to destroy future generation's dreams, dashes them against the rocks of time. Or maybe they just ran out of numbers. Who knows? This fine instrument, a Gibson A-50 mandolin, has one of those numbers. I think it's a 1968 based on the case, which would have had yellow lining in 1965. It is the original case, with the original key. Square with green lining. It looks like a late 60's case. Also, the bracket on the pickguard is chrome. In 1965 it would have been nickel. And, it has "Union Made" on the red label. So, my educated guess is 1968, but it could possibly be 1965. Regardless of the year, it's a great, great mandolin, just as clean as can be. I hesitate to use the word mint in describing a 50 year old instrument, so let's call this excellent plus. I mean, it's super clean. It plays great, the action is fine, the frets are perfect, and it has a lovely, quilted maple back. It sounds magnificent. It has the original, double line Kluson tuners. It's a great mandolin, one of the nicest I've seen.
