The guitar has a mahogany neck with a comfortable, rounded profile. The rosewood fingerboard has classic split-parallelogram inlays, 20 frets and a 24.75-inch scale length, and 1-11/16" nut width. The Gibson BJB Floating humbucker is mounted to the pickguard and has a warm, articulate sound with exceptional clarity and depth. The single volume control is conveniently located on the pickguard.   This 2001 Gibson ES-135 model was built right here in our hometown of Memphis, TN. It is a rare example with great provenance, and a cool Blue Burst finish. Originally owned by a former Gibson manager, this guitar was part of a small and unusual production run. Gibson temporarily ran out of Chromite (their name for balsa wood normally used for ES-135 center blocks), and to keep production moving, they built only 27 guitars with a solid maple center block.
