  4. G&L Doheny - Old School Tobacco Sunburst #8107
    $2,215.00 Click for price

This Doheny has been upgraded with Tortoise Shell Pickguard and Vintage Satin Tint neck finish.

Inspired by the classic surf sound born in Southern California, the new G&L Doheny takes its name from the iconic beach in the heart of Orange County where 60's surf pioneers became legends. Since those halcyon days, both music and surfing have evolved far beyond their roots, and so has the performance of the gear.
Doheny takes the bolt-on offset-body into new sonic territory with newly developed Magnetic Field Design jazz pickups, the first on any production G&L. Naturally, these new pickups will invite comparison to Leo’s jumbo MFD ASAT Special pickups, given they employ a narrow bobbin aperture and broad coil splay. But Doheny's MFD pickups are more about jangle than twang, just as they should be for a guitar like this. With a classic jazz bobbin aperture wrapped with traditional Formvar wire, these pickups just might be the approach Leo would have taken had he been with us a few years longer.
So what’s it like? The sound is rich in harmonics yet surprisingly full, the result of carefully researching and applying Leo's creative work across the decades. The Doheny pickups deliver the experience fans have hoped for, with their flexibility maximized by the PTB tone system that allows echoes of yesteryear while delivering more output and range for today’s music. Add in Leo's finest vibrato for enhanced tuning stability and improved sustain, and the results are astounding.

  5. Eastman Varnish T64/V AMB Antique Amber Hollowbody #0203

    Regular Price: $1,999.00

    Special Price $1,599.00

Hey, I love my job. I get to look at cool guitars, play them, touch them, then write about them...and don't tell anybody, I get paid for this. HOW ABOUT THAT? Here we have a new Eastman T64V AMB. This guitar is modeled after the Gibson ES-330 and Epiphone Casino from the late fifties and sixties. It is a thin line, hollow body, with two P-90 style pickups, and a Bigsby vibrato. How cool is that? A Bigsby!! It has an aged varnish, Amber finish. Just an amazing guitar. If you are into The Beatles, early Stones, Slim Harpo, Howling Wolf, you'll like this. They all played models similar to this. It's my favorite new guitar in the store right now.

  6. Suhr Modern Satin Pro Limited White HSH

    Regular Price: $2,990.00

    Special Price $2,195.00

Wood, that's the heart and soul of a guitar. You got to have the right wood. Take this new limited edition Suhr Modern Satin Pro HSH. It's made of African Okoume. How's that for a name? Also known as African Mahogany. It's a lovely wood, lightweight, and has some great tonal characteristics. It's reminiscent of mahogany...to my ears it's tonally very similar to Korina. It has a thin, satin finish that allows the guitar to resonate to its fullest potential. This is a guitar for serious folks...folks that want clean, articulate tone when called for. Of course, you have to be able to play clean and articulately, but if you're looking at this guitar, you've already got that part down. It weighs 6 lbs, 6 oz. From the heaviest of rock to the most mellow of jazz, this covers all the bases. Comes with deluxe Suhr gig bag.

  8. Suhr Custom Modern - Silver Drip - Left-Handed #1996
    $4,780.00

Sometimes things just don't work out. A customer ordered this guitar from Suhr to his exact specs. Very cool specs, but unfortunately was unable to complete the transaction. Let his loss be your gain. What we have is a new Suhr Modern left-handed. It is set up from Suhr for right-handed playing, because that is how this guy learned to play. It is a left-handed guitar though, and could be strung as a left-handed guitar by simply swapping out the Floyd nut. I'm right-handed and I would play this guitar because I think guitars look really cool upside down. It's also a flat-out incredible guitar, and sounds amazing.
It's got a roasted Alder body, roasted Maple neck and fingerboard, 10-14" compound radius, Modern Elliptical neck carve (.800-.850), jumbo stainless steel frets, Suhr SSV pickup in the neck, SSH Plus in the bridge, Floyd Rose tremelo, locking nut, five way switch, and push-pull parallel pot for the bridge pickup.
It's brand new, never been sold, comes with full warranty, hard-case, and is ready to go.

  10. PAUL REED SMITH MCCARTY 594 - BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD - McCarty Tobacco Sunburst #1850
    $3,685.00

This McCarty 594 features Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. This feature is usually only available on Artist Package models, but is available here for a very limited time.

The McCarty 594 is a vintage-inspired instrument that is at once incredibly familiar and effortlessly playable. Whether you are looking for rich, authentic, vintage humbucking tones or nuanced, sweet single-coil sounds, the McCarty 594 can seamlessly master both sonic territories thanks to the 58/15 LT pickups and push/pull coil taps on the tone controls. The electronics layout, a few key specifications, and PRS craftsmanship combine in the McCarty 594 to create an instrument that plays in tune, is intonated the entire length of the neck, and feels like a guitar that you’ve been playing forever.

"The 594 is the best new guitar I've played in years. It has a vintage heart and soul but without the technical limitations that usually come along with an old instrument. What good is an old guitar if you can't get all that feel out of the upper frets, or the intonation is off? To hear that old PAF sound but be able to articulate the notes in a way that only modern manufacturing could allow is so exciting." – John Mayer

  11. D'Angelico DELUXE KURT ROSENWINKEL SS #0984
    $2,799.00

We have some great jazz guitar teachers here at Martin Music, serious cats, these guys.  Kurt Rosenwinkel is one of our teacher's favorite guitar players.  That's all I need to know, if Joe says this guy is the bomb, then he's the bomb.   We have a D'Angelico DLX SS co-designed with Kurt.  This is an exceptional guitar. with a spruce top, flame maple back and sides, gold hardware, two humbucking pickups, and this is quite novel for a hollow body, but this guitar is not completely hollow, it's more of a semi solid, not quite like a Gibson ES-335 but with a solid block to support the stop tailpiece.  The finish is Honey Burst with gold Grover tuners and ebony knobs.  It's a striking instrument.  It sounds and plays great, this is a serious guitar.  The neck is C-shape, slim and comfortable.  Comes with hard case

Designed in collaboration with one of the world's most renowned jazz guitarists, the Deluxe Kurt Rosenwinkel SS features a spruce top for brightness and a center-block for maximum sustain, easily maintaining its full tone in a band setting. With minimal appointments, the Kurt Rosenwinkel SS features a comfortable slim C-shape neck profile, rosewood fingerboard, and stopbar tailpiece. Its Honey Burst finish is complemented by gold Grover tuners and ebony tone knobs.

  12. PAUL REED SMITH CUSTOM 24 - 10-TOP - FLAME MAPLE NECK/BOARD - BONNI PINK #2524
    $4,230.00

This Custom 24 has been upgraded with a 10-Top, Artist finish (Bonnie Pink), Artist Grade flamed maple neck and fingerboard. Also features a Pattern Thin neck profile.

Do you guys know the story about the PRS Custom finish, Bonni Pink?  Bonni Lloyd was an early PRS employee, one of the first.  She wanted a pink guitar and they guys at PRS made her one.  Word got out and PRS made a few in very limited numbers during the late 1980's. Those guitars are highly sought after and are valuable collectors items.  This one just came in, we had to wait a while to get it, again, it is being made in limited numbers.  This guitar is new, a PRS Custom 24 with flames out the wazoo, a 10 top, bird inlays, and of course, the super cool Bonni Pink finish.  It has a pattern/thin neck and vibrato.  The finish is so cool, it's awesome.  Oh, there may be some that scoff at a pink finish, but remember, Jeff Beck played a pink Charvel.  You think you are cooler than Jeff Beck?  I don't think so.  So, man up and get this great guitar before some other, less insecure person grabs it.  Comes with hard case.
